We went out for a trail run in "one of Southland's gems." About 45 minutes from Gore, this park lived up to its reputation. It was raining pretty steadily, but under the canopy of tree branches it was quite pleasant.

Our decision to proceed was confirmed within a few minutes
when we came across these rapids on the river--good payoff for the effort. |

The ground was pretty saturated and we had concerns that Vizi might have trouble
getting us back to the paved road, but no problem! |
