We arrived in the Buller District Saturday afternoon. We don't have a permanent temporary address yet, so we're patching together some microwave meals and Internet from the public library. This post will be brief so I don't get kicked out of the library for using up their allotted broadband space, but hopefully long enough and with enough pictures to give you a flavor of our new location. We had cloudy skies and rain during the weekend, but today (Tuesday) is sunny and mild.
Leaving Invercargill. This is the entire plane. |
My level of fitness has definitely dropped during this trip, but my rear end hasn't gotten THAT big. This aisle is small. |
The Wesport airport, in its entirety. |
The ocean from Carters Beach. |
Our first-day track outing. |
Weka in the parking lot. |
View from the walkway. |
On the track. |
Our destination on this track is the seal colony on these rocks. |
