After a really relaxing NYE with great stargazing in the Southern Sky and fireworks in Auckland on TV, we did a tramp in another area of Hanmer Forest. We started just beyond the edge of town on the Chattaran Track. We reached the summit of Jack's Pass, then went on to Mt Isobel (1349 meters).
