Oamaru, December 14

Hello!

Thursday of this week we took ourselves to Oamaru, a sizable town (by rural NZ standards) about 35 minutes south of Waimete. The town has a well-preserved Victorian section that we visited and took pictures. Where those pictures are now, I don't know. We are still figuring out our new camera. So you will have to take us on trust that we visited Oamaru. The best part might have been our really tasty lunch at a place called Bangkok Recipe Thai. I had vegan masaman curry and Ruben had a pork satay. Both of us gobbled it up. The camp cooking at the house has been a little on the bland side, since I only buy exactly what we'll eat and what will fit in our dorm fridge and I don't have any pantry staples.

We finally got haircuts in Oamaru. I am really pleased with my cut. R was less pleased because I went shopping while he had his cut and he had to wait for me. My haircut took 45 minutes, I figured his would, too. Oops.

If I ever find those photos, I will post them here.
